Tropics

The tropics are areas of Earth that lie simply north and south of the equator. The equator is an imaginary line across the center of Earth. The northern border of the tropics is the Tropic of Most cancers. It’s an imaginary line about 1,600 miles (2,570 kilometers) north of the equator. The southern border of the tropics is an imaginary line referred to as the Tropic of Capricorn. It lies 1,600 miles south of the equator.

Most locations within the tropics are heat or scorching all yr round. Many tropical areas have wet and dry seasons. Most areas close to the equator are coated by tropical rain forests and get a variety of rain. Areas alongside the sides of the tropics are cool within the winter.
