Atlanta is the capital and largest metropolis of Georgia. It’s a middle of commerce and transportation for the southeastern United States. It lies in northern Georgia, within the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Atlanta’s financial system is predicated largely on commerce and transportation. The town is a number one rail middle and has one of many nation’s busiest airports. The world’s factories produce tender drinks, army planes, and lots of different merchandise.
In 1837, a city referred to as Terminus was based on the intersection of two rail strains. The city was renamed Atlanta in 1845. In the course of the American Civil Struggle (1861-1865), Atlanta was destroyed by Union troops led by Basic William T. Sherman. The town was rebuilt shortly after the struggle. In 1996, Atlanta hosted the Summer time Olympic Video games.
